Dear City of Arcadia,
As a resident of Arcadia, I value Arcadia’s unique quality of
life.
Careful thought and consideration should be put into
any
new development that will change the character of our
town FOREVER.
I
oppose the plan to build a new regional mall at Santa
Anita racetrack.
I am deeply concerned about the impact that a 925,000 square foot
development project on 85 acres of land in the heart of our town will
have on
traffic, our air quality and overall quality of life.
This mall
will bring 1,000,000 new car trips per month to Arcadia. That is more
than 30,000 new car trips a day.
I also object to the plan to build a 98,000 square foot “simulcast, off track betting
facility” or racing casino, also known as a “racino,” at Santa Anita
racetrack. This mall will operate 16 hours a day, every day, forever!
The City government must take action to preserve our
quality of life.
The time to act is now.
Please reject the plan
for the massive regional mall at Santa Anita racetrack.
Sincerely,
